Creating an Exhibition DVD (auto-start and looping)
1: Preparing your Video footage:
•Follow the guidelines in the Compressor handout to prepare your video project for dvd. This means the creation of separate sound (dolby) and video (.m2v) files.
•In Apple's DVD Studio Pro import (file>import) your video and sound files or simply drag them into the assets window.
2: Setting your DVD track to play and repeat:
•In the Graphical tab of your project window delete the Menu icon so there is only the Track icon left.
•Drag your assets to the track icon.
•With the Track selected go to the Inspector palette, by default it's in the bottom right side of screen. If you cant find it there is a button to turn it on and off it the top right of your project window.
•Look for "End Jump" in the Inspector and set it to Track and Stories>Track 1
Here you are telling the DVD what to do when it is done playing your video. By telling it to play itself, you are making the video loop continuously.
3: Setting your DVD disk to start playing automatically and naming your disc:
•Now go back to the Graphical tab of the project window and select the gray area around your track by clicking it. This takes you to the root DVD settings where we will tell the DVD what to do when it is put in the DVD player and give the disc a name.
•Back in the Inspector palette find "First Play" and set it to Track and Stories>Track 1
This makes the DVD immediately start your video.
•Also, give your disc a name just above First Play. This is helpful for identifying the disc.
4: Burning Your Disk:
•Now you are ready to burn the disc. Simply click the Burn icon at the top of your project window.
•When it is complete remember to check your DVD by playing it! I can't stress that enough.
